FRIDAY NOVEMBER 6 2015: ConnectIreland scooped the award for ‘best citizen engagement’ at the City Nation Place Awards in London last night (Thursday 5 November).
The international awards benchmark excellence in place brand strategies.
A panel of renowned international judges – a committee of branding and marketing experts from across the globe – commended the high calibre of finalists at this year’s event.
ConnectIreland was shortlisted in three out of four categories at the awards earlier this year. Delivering the Succeed in Ireland initiative in association with IDA Ireland, ConnectIreland was shortlisted for best citizen engagement, best communications strategy and best use of social media.
At a gala ceremony in London yesterday, on the final day of the City Nation Place Forum, ConnectIreland was named overall winner for ‘best citizen engagement’.
ConnectIreland’s Community Action Plan campaign was applauded for its innovative approach to encouraging participation in job creation. By engaging with communities, local authorities and organisations across Ireland to promote regional job creation, ConnectIreland continues to develop strong relationships and active citizen engagement with the job creation model.
ConnectIreland CEO, Joanna Murphy, said: “I am delighted that ConnectIreland has been recognised internationally as a leader in citizen engagement. Our team works tirelessly to promote Ireland and encourage people to become involved in helping us to create jobs. Without our network of connectors what we do would not be possible and we thank them for their continued support. Everyone should become a connector and help us to drive Ireland’s job creation forward”.
